The Suunto Smart heart rate monitor provides accurate heart rate data without compromising on comfort. The band offers superior performance in sports where hand movement interferes with wrist heart rate measurements. It allows you to measure your heart rate while wearing the watch over your sleeve or attached to the bike handlebars, or even without having the watch with you during exercise.

The Suunto Smart heart rate monitor has an RR memory which is used when the watch is not within range of the Bluetooth smart radio. This is a very useful feature for team sports, as it allows registration without wearing the watch. This memory function is only available in Suunto 3, 5, 9, Spartan, Ambit3 and Traverse watches.
